So you’re looking to get into scuba diving, you see all the underwater pictures and documentaries and you want to see the underwater world yourself, or you have some of your friends already diving and you want to join them on their underwater adventures, but you don’t know where and how to start? well this simple step by step introduction to scuba diving is going to help you get started!
Find a local diving center or an instructor : this is the most important step ,getting certified is the way to get you to dive without an instructor or a divemaster holding you throughout the dive (introduction dives), there are many diving agencies offering certificates, most of them are really good however the most popular one is called PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) we’ll use its courses as the standard since it’s the most popular diving agency worldwide, the courses are relatively simple, starting with PADI open water diver, which is basically the first level in diving, it gets you ready to dive in the least time possible.
The PADI Open Water Diver course includes three parts: Knowledge Development, Confined Water Dives, and Open Water Dives. Knowledge Development covers the principles, concepts and terms you need to know for dive safety and enjoyment. During the Confined Water Dives, you learn and practice scuba skills in a pool or water with pool-like conditions. You’ll enjoy making one or more minidives, which take you through the same steps you follow when you make open water dives. To complete training you practice, apply and demonstrate what you learn during four Open Water Dives at a local dive site. you can contact us on instagram if you’re interested in starting your Scuba diving journey.
